My happiest days are when I’m active. Whether it is indoors or outdoors, fitness is my passion.
First and foremost, I am a mother of a young daughter, who is the most loving, compassionate, principled, and funniest person in my life - and is also my biggest supporter. She is what motivates me to be my best self; and in turn, I am driven to always look for ways to set a positive example in her life, so she continues to mature into a confident, resilient, and resourceful young woman.
I am also a 20+ year veteran of Corporate America. But no matter how successful I had become in my career, I slowly came to realize that true life fulfillment would come from pursuing those things that were most important to me and that I was most passionate about. I say slowly because it took several years to overcome the fear of not doing what I had been groomed to do … get up early, rush to get out the door for school and the office, work-work-work, leave the office for a little mommy time, work some more, and then crash into bed super late - only to get up the next morning and do it all over again.
My happiest days are when I’m active. Whether it is indoors or outdoors, fitness is my passion. Physical activity is what gives me perspective and clears my head. It is a mood enhancer. When I’m active, I come out of it feeling like I am stronger, more accomplished, and I can tackle anything that comes my way. It is also a fun activity that I share with my daughter. We enjoy fitness together, and she also views it as her go-to “reset” button, when she may be having a challenging moment.
It was just about 2 years ago when it hit me that I really wanted to make some changes … in fact, I needed to make some changes. Everything I am, and everything I strive to be is for the benefit of my sweet girl … so that she learns the lessons early that I did not learn until well into adulthood – to love yourself, to advocate for yourself, and to never relegate yourself to the status quo.
When I looked up and my financially rewarding, yet uninspired life was changing, I knew that I needed to reconnect with myself and really identify my true heart’s desire and my passion. This is what led me to where I am today, introducing Best Self Total Wellness, LLC.
